I know that quite a few of our members are preparing for EGA’s National Seminar in Louisville, Kentucky, the first week in September, followed immediately by ANG’s National Seminar, closer to home at Indian Wells, California. Seminars are always exciting times when we learn something new for our stitching repertoires, meet new friends and get together with old friends. Who’s going to have the Pizza and Wine get-together in their hotel room at EGA’s Golden Gala this year?
I am delighted to welcome two new members to our chapter: Marque and September. September has a lot of beading experience, and Marque is fearless in trying new techniques.
The pilot stitchers for the Circle with Blue Flower GCC proposal have begun their work! Most of what’s been done is a review of the written materials to clarify questions about fabric and fibers, but it is shaping up to be a very successful program.
Have you thought of any organizations or facilities to which we could donate our Christmas tree with hand-stitched ornaments?
Enjoy your waning summer days of stitching – may your stitches be many and your frogs be few. Ina
Be sure to turn in your volunteer service hours on our sheet at chapter meetings. These hours are vital in helping EGA maintain its non-profit status. Thanks to everyone !!

- In August, Jean will help us get into a Halloween mood with a Square Stitch Beaded Bracelet.
- We’ll be getting SANE (Seminar Additional Needed Enhancements) in September. Since the two Guilds’ Seminars will be over when the September chapter meeting occurs, we’d all like to see the projects you’ve started in your classes. All seminar projects are welcome: EGA, ANG, Region, Workshops, and any others. Share your experiences and your new works in progress! And do you think they’ll be ready to be entered into next year’s San Diego County Fair?
- Don’t forget to support the businesses that advertise in our chapter newsletter! Let them know you are a member of Muchas Manos and appreciate their support. In this month’s newsletter, our advertisers were: Needle Nook of La Jolla, Needlepoint of La Jolla, Sandy’s Finishing Touches, Stitcher’s Treasures, and The Black Sheep.
