President’s Message • Volunteer Service Hours • UFO Updates • Other News
Ladies, we have a busy couple of weeks ahead of us coming as it does just after the San Diego County Fair. I am reminding all of us about the Jay Patterson/Rainbow Gallery fund raiser. I look forward to seeing each of you at the fund raiser and have your helping hands. Are you excited about this day? I am!
My congratulations go to each of you who entered the fair. You have much to be proud of. Our participation each year does a great job in showing what can be done. Always we strive to raise the level of excellence. Thank you for entering. I also want to thank all of you who helped out at our booth. You are appreciated!

Be sure to turn in your volunteer service hours to Ina Gibson, our Regional Rep. These hours are vital in helping EGA maintain its non-profit status. All volunteer hours count, even if for an organization other than EGA. Demonstration shifts at the San Diego County (Del Mar) Fair will count towards these service hours. We also needs LOTS of help for our July 17th Rainbow Gallery Seminar fundraiser.
Tamara Willis is keeping track of our stitching points and reports the following points earned by members through June 8, 2004.

- In July, Nancy Horne will be teaching us how to select stitches for canvas. Nancy will describe the different sizes (mesh counts) of canvas, threads appropriate to the mesh size; choosing painted canvases, styles of canvas (artist or stitch painting). She will also present various textural stitches with suggestions on how to decide which stitch(es) to use. Nancy will bring books and sample stitches on display. We will have a chance for hands-on work to experiment with some of the stitches. For more info, check out our programs page.
- Come celebrate the 4th of July with Muchas Manos! With thanks to Gloria Fedor, we have been allowed to use the Clairemont Community Room on Monday, July 5. We will be stitching and working on preparations for our Rainbow Gallery program (Saturday, July 17). The room will be open from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. – and possibly later. Bring food and drink to share as well as your stitching.
