I’m writing this after spending a wonderful day stitching the Golden Pomegranate. What a relaxing, wonderful gift a day of stitching with friends is! I want to thank Margaret C. for designing and teaching such a wonderful project, Karen Krampe for setting us up in such a great room and all the ladies present for the laughter, food and fellowship. And Gloria Fedor for bringing her delicious meatballs!
In EGA we have many opportunities to spend a day (or even more) stitching with friends. The region is sponsoring two GCC classes: The Swiss Sampler and Crewel Choices. Members may register for one of these, and the region will pay the teaching fee. Forms may be found on page 6 of this newsletter as well as on our Yahoo Group site. Make sure Gloria Z. (address on registration form) receives your complete registration form along with your check for the text fee by May 15.
Are you still stitching those Kissing Pillows for our outreach? Remember this is an on-going outreach. If you need some motivation to complete more Kissing Pillows, check out this television report on the Evergreen Chapter’s Kissing Pillow Outreach, posted to the EGA list by Debby C., that chapter’s president. Here is a link to the clip: http://tinyurl.com/5a3nup.
Don’t forget the San Diego Fair Entry deadline is fast approaching. Get those winners finished and framed! Ina
Be sure to turn in your volunteer service hours on our sheet at chapter meetings. These hours are vital in helping EGA maintain its non-profit status. Thanks to everyone !!

- The April program will be the very special Golden Pomegranate. Margaret will teach her original design, a needle-painting and goldwork masterpiece. Those who have signed up for this program will already have received the list of supplies they will need to provide themselves. The chapter will provide some supplies as well. Two Saturday sessions will be scheduled to complete the Golden Pomegranate. See Karen Krampe or Margaret for more details!
- April 30–the due date for sending our challenging reversible blackwork wall hanging projects to designer Dakota Rogers. Remember that at least half of each band must be complete to be eligible for evaluation.
- Our May meeting will be a special daytime meeting. We will have an afternoon of Chatting and Stitching, lunching and learning starting at noon. Especially bring your UFOs for a stitching-dedicated afternoon. Bring nutritious and/or simply delicious goodies to share. The business portion of this month’s meeting will begin around 4:00 p.m.
- Don’t forget to support the businesses that advertise in our chapter newsletter! Let them know you are a member of Muchas Manos and appreciate their support. In this month’s newsletter, our advertisers were: Needle Nook of La Jolla, Needlepoint of La Jolla, Sandy’s Finishing Touches, Stitcher’s Treasures, and The Black Sheep.
